Leslie C. Sotomayor II<\/strong>\u00a0is an artist, curator, and educator with a dual PhD in Art Education and Women\u2019s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Penn State.\u00a0\u00a0Her teaching focuses on Gloria Anzald\u00faa\u2019s theory of conocimiento and autohistoria-teor\u00eda, a feminist writing practice of theorizing one\u2019s experiences as transformative acts to guide her teaching methodology and create curriculum for empowerment and transformation to curate educational spaces that decolonize white patriarchal hegemonic academic canons. She has curated numerous art exhibitions including: \u00a0Les Femmes Folles Presents:\u00a0Feminists Connect<\/em><\/a> (<\/em>\u00a02021 & 2022<\/a>);\u00a0Let\u2019s Pretend<\/em><\/a>\u00a0with Edinboro University (2021);\u00a0Hilos Rojos<\/em>, a solo art exhibition in Havana, Cuba (2017); and\u00a0Borrandofronteras\/Erasingborders<\/em>\u00a0a Cuban and Cuban-American Collaborative Art Exhibition at Penn State (2015).\u00a0Sotomayor\u2019s book\u00a0Teaching In\/Between: Curating Educational spaces Through Autohistoria-teor\u00eda and conocimiento<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/em>(Vernon Press, 2021) discusses a feminist, social justice approach implementing Gloria Anzald\u00faa\u2019s theories for teaching and curriculum design through a Latinx feminist lens.\u00a0Sotomayor has numerous publications about her research work in Cuba, feminist curatorial projects, curriculum approaches, and visual arts practice. Taryne Jade Taylor<\/strong>\u00a0is an assistant professor of Humanities and Composition at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where she also serves as the coordinator for the Humanities and the Latin American Studies minor. Her research focuses on the politics of representation in speculative fiction, particularly feminist SFF and Latinx futurisms. Dr. Taylor is co-editor of the forthcoming\u00a0The Routledge Handbook of CoFuturisms\u00a0<\/em>with\u00a0Grace Dillon, Isiah Lavender III, and Bodhisattva Chattopadhyay. She is an associate editor for\u00a0the\u00a0Journal of the Fantastic in the Arts<\/em>, editor of the Routledge book series\u00a0Studies in Global Genre Fiction<\/em>, and a juror for the Theodore Sturgeon\u00a0Memorial Award for the best short science fiction of the year.<\/p>\n
