She loves teaching all levels of Spanish and has a particular interest in cultural and literature courses taught in either Spanish or English. Her research interests include the study of identity and identity formation in U.S.-published Latinx works.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Poetry<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/labelmelatin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Empanadas-Sweet-by-Connie-Ramirez-.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Empanadas: Sweet <\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>by Connie Ramirez<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Connie Ram\u00edrez<\/strong> was born in East Chicago, IN, and spent the majority of her life in Chicago, IL. She is the daughter of a Mexican immigrant father and a Tejano mother.\u00a0 She currently resides in San Antonio, Texas.\u00a0 She has studied Spanish and English literature in both her undergraduate and graduate studies and is an alum of Purdue University and Saint Xavier University (Chicago).\u00a0She has been a teacher of English, Spanish, art, and creative writing and a reading interventionist. She has written several essays, poems, and short stories in both languages. Her work has been published by <em>The Acentos Review<\/em>. &#8220;Empanadas: Sweet&#8221; was inspired by the nostalgia of a Midwestern family Christmas tradition.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/labelmelatin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/El-olvido-The-Oblivion-by-Neyda-H.-Long.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>El olvido \/ The Oblivion <\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>by Neyda H. Long\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Born in Caracas, Venezuela, <strong>Neyda H. Long<\/strong> holds a licentiate degree in Psychology from the Universidad Cat\u00f3lica Andres Bello, a Graduate Diploma in Behaviour Modification from Simon Bolivar University and an MEd. Educational Foundations and Counseling from the University of New Brunswick. She obtained a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from the University of New Brunswick. In 2016. her first anthology of poems <em>El comienzo inconcluso <\/em>was published<em>. <\/em>Her first bilingual (Spanish-English) Children\u2019s Story Book <em>The\u00a0 Flower\/ La Bella Flor<\/em> has been published in Spanish, English, French and Arabic. Her poems and short stories appear frequently in the\u00a0 quarterly literary publication <em>The Apostles Review <\/em>and her work has appeared in the following anthologies <em>Construyendo memorias: Escritoras latinoamericanas en el nuevo milenio<\/em> and<em> Hilar historias: Antolog\u00eda de escritoras latinoamericanas. <\/em>She has resided in Fredericton since 1983.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Short Story<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/labelmelatin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/La-Jaula-de-los-Pajaros-por-Elizabeth-Munoz.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>La Jaula de los Pa\u0301jaros <\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>by Elizabeth Mu\u00f1oz\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Elizabeth Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong> is a student at CSU East Bay where she is getting her degree in Ethnic Studies with a concentration in Chicanx and Latinx Studies. As a first-generation Latina she hopes to write stories that create a bond with her readers.
